THRESHOLD LADDERFR

Privacy

The short version: the site has no accounts and no analytics tools, the forecasts are computed in your browser, and what you type stays on your device. The services it relies on – advertising, the live standings, the fonts and the hosting – are described below.

What the site keeps

A tournament you type in, the readings you confirm during a session, the evenings you save and the language you choose are stored by your browser alone, in its local storage. They are never sent anywhere and disappear when you clear the site's data. There is no account, no form that reaches a server of this site, and no audience measurement of its own: the only figures the site receives about its audience are aggregate ones – the reports AdSense gives every publisher (pages viewed, ads shown and earnings, by country and by device), the reports Google Search Console gives every site owner (how often its pages appear and are clicked in Google Search, by search query, page, country and device), and the number of requests the live standings service receives – and none of these figures identifies anyone.

Advertising

Pages of this site may show advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. To serve and measure those ads, Google and other third parties may place and read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses and similar identifiers to collect information.

Other ad networks and vendors certified by Google may also serve ads here and use their own cookies: see Google's page on vendors certified for third-party ads. In Europe, the consent message lists every vendor it asks your consent for. Where a vendor offers it, you can opt out of its use of cookies for personalised advertising on its own website, or through the links below.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for their choice through Google's consent message before any such cookie is used; without consent, the ads shown are not personalised. You can change your choice at any time from the “Privacy and cookie settings” link Google shows at the bottom of the page.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and of other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu. How Google uses information from sites that show its ads is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

The forecasts never depend on the advertising: nothing on the page waits for it, and a blocked banner leaves a working page.

Live standings

While a cup that is under way is open, the page asks a small service run for this site, every few minutes, for the current standings of that cup: the points at a handful of ranks, read from Osirion's public API. The request carries nothing about you beyond what every web request carries – your IP address is seen by Cloudflare, which runs the service, and is not stored by it. The service keeps the standings of the cups it follows, a few numbers per reading, for 31 days, so the evening of a cup can be replayed after it ends.

Fonts and hosting

The pages use the Chivo typeface, loaded from Google Fonts; your browser asks Google's servers for it, as it would for any web font. The site is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may keep technical logs, including IP addresses, for security; see GitHub's privacy statement.

Host: GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States.

The standalone file

The downloadable single-file version of the forecast carries no advertising, asks for no standings, loads nothing from anyone and makes no request at all.

Where the numbers come from

The model is built from public tournament results read from Osirion's API. What it contains is thresholds, scoring tables and calendar fields: no player names, no accounts, nothing personal.

Contact and your rights

If you write to the site, your message and address are used only to reply, and deleted on request. For anything about your data – including the data Google, Cloudflare or GitHub process when you visit – see the contact page; you can also clear what your browser keeps for this site at any time from its settings.
